Slugfest ... having a snail of a time in the garden

It’s the garden invasion that has seen slugs and snails arrive in their thousands as the garden pests enjoy the wet, mild weather.

Sales of slug pellets at the UK’s largest garden centre, B&Q, are up 74 per cent compared to this time last year as gardeners stock up on products to get rid of snails and slugs from their gardens.

Compared to the rain soaked month of May sales are also up 31 per cent as the continuous wet and mild weather had proven the perfect breeding climate.
