Beer we go! Lacada set forautumn launch
A first meeting of the co-owners was held at Portrush Town Hall last Wednesday evening.
The co-operative share scheme was launched last October with the public being offered the chance to invest between £100 and £20,000 in the venture.

Hide AdLacada has already lined up a location close to Portrush train station for the new venture.
“A great deal of the co-owners are from Northern Ireland, with some in England, Scotland,the United States and Europe,” explained Lacada chairman, Laurie Davies.
“Most of those overseas have some sort of connection with Northern Ireland. We’re over the moon about the response.
“Our next step will be securing equipment for the brewery. We have already met with the planners and discussed a pre-application for premises in Portrush.

Hide Ad“We would hope to go to market around September and we will create four part-time jobs in the start-up phase.”
Lacada will produce a core range of three beers - a porter, golden ale and India pale ale - as well as brewing specialities throughout the year such as at Halloween and Christmas.
