Community spirit behind festive event in Whitehead
The free event took place in the town’s Methodist Church hall on December 25.
It was open to all who were “either in need, lonely, or just want to spend a couple of hours in good company”, according to local man Noel McKee.

Hide AdNoel and his wife Gillian organised the event for those who might otherwise spend Christmas Day alone.
It was also hoped that the venture would inspire others in the community to reach out to their neighbours over the holiday season.
A total of 25 people enjoyed the delicious festive fare on the day, with a further two home deliveries.
Some £425 was donated to the Salvation Army in Belfast in aid of their night shelter work.
