Cookstown’s nightspots among the worst for crime in NI

Cookstown’s pubs and nightclubs are among the worst for crime in Northern Ireland, it has emerged.

According to figures released by the PSNI, Cookstown’s nightspots had 190 recorded crimes in 2013, the fifth highest area in the Province.

Magherafelt had 58 recorded crimes for the same period, in the statistics obtained by the Irish News newspaper.

Conor Cullen from Alcohol Action Ireland told the newspaper, that binge drinking was fuelling the crime in nightclubs and pubs.
