Dinner for volunteers
The Mayor’s Volunteer Initiative is open to anyone who is involved in regular volunteering, and certificates will be presented to 200 people from across the district at a special ceremony held in the Guildhall on December 5.
Nominations will be accepted from November 16 and the Mayor is calling on everyone to ensure they take the opportunity to acknowledge the many individuals who contribute so much to the local community.

During my time in office I want to recognize the extraordinary work that is ongoing and which so often goes unacknowledged. And I think it’s important that people share the stories of those who go out of their way to help others on a daily basis.
“If you have benefitted from someone’s help, or if you know someone who devotes their time to helping others and assisting their community then please submit a nomination today.”
Nominations can be submitted up until November 23, and the special event will take place in the Guildhall for 200 volunteers on the 5th of December.
In appreciation of their work, the Mayor will host a special dinner followed by some light entertainment and acknowledgements. All 200 volunteers will receive a special certificate acknowledging their work.
