Firefighters rescue man from ditch in Carrickmore

Firefighters were called by Northern Ireland Ambulance Service to help a 57-year-old man who had fallen into a ditch just after 10pm at Creggan Road, Carrickmore on Sunday night.

A spokesperson for the fire service said that fire crew used a ladder and manual handling techniques to retrieve the man from the gully, before he was handed over to paramedics.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance after the incident on June 12.

Fire crews from Pomeroy and Omagh stations attended.
