Kilcreggan expansion plans are outlined
Kilcreggan Urban Farm is one of three projects to benefit from the legacy of the local authority, which came to an end this week.
The Elizabeth Avenue site includes the Kilcreggan Homes supported living scheme, with the urban farm developed in the late 1990s to provide tenants with opportunities for horticulture and other outdoor activities.

The landscaping scheme follows plans to construct a new coffee shop at the entrance to the venue, said Kilcreggan manager Damian Cassidy.
“We’re not quite sure on the details of the landscaping project yet, but it will start as soon as the coffee shop is completed,” Damian said.
Meanwhile a group from Carrick’s sister city of Anderson, South Carolina, are due to visit Kilcreggan in the autumn.
“They are basically looking at providing something similar to Kilcreggan in Anderson,” Damian added.
