Maeve's business skills lead to a major award
Former St Killian’s College pupil Maeve McSparron, is a final year student in Human Resource Management.
During a one year placement at AES Corporation Maeve was tasked with re-tendering for a new Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provider.

Hide AdWith site health and safety at Ballylumford and Kilroot Power Stations of utmost importance the products and services provided by the PPE supplier not only impact the company’s costs but critically the wellbeing of its employees. Maeve identified a new provider and successfully integrated and managed the contract.
Congratulating Maeve, Professor Gillian Armstrong, Ulster University Business School said, “Maeve is to be congratulated for maximising her time and experience at AES to not only enhance her own skills, but also for providing a successful solution to the company’s PPE requirements.”
Praising Maeve’s contribution, George Lunn, AES said, “Maeve had to gather data, liaise with health and safety and conduct market analysis before issuing tender packs and awarding the contract. She has managed to streamline our procurement process and achieve 6% market savings.
“Throughout her time at AES Maeve went above and beyond her duty and we all wish her well in her future career.”
