Magnificent nett 61 for Michael takes Ballycastle August Monthly Medal
Michael started by dropping two shots in the first two holes but aided by a birdie at the 7th he completed the front nine in 4 over par.
On the back nine he stuck tenaciously to his task carding two over par. The resultant nett 61 gave him a 4 shot margin over 9 handicapper Damian Mc Sorley who produced a fine nett 65 which enabled him to claim the Division 1 section.

Hide AdMartin Morgan appears to major in Monthly Medals because, as he did in the July Medal, he claimed the Division 2 section with a nett 66 on countback from Liam Mc Gonigle.
Darren Mc Clintock was the man to beat in Division 3.Playing off 22 Darren carded a nett 65 which was sufficient to give him a 3 shot margin over his nearest rival.
The best gross of the day went to Paul Casey,who playing off 5,completed his round in a one over par 72.
Although not in the prizes Brendan Mc Collum,in the course of returning a solid nett 68 playing off 7 , had a birdie 2 at the Par 3 tenth only to follow it up with an eagle 2 at the Par 4 eleventh!

Hide AdRoyal Portrush visitor Roderick Leitch claimed the honours in the Midweek Open Stableford on 12 August.
Playing off 15 Roderick kept any damage to a minimum and with the help of threebirdies returned two nines of 23 points giving him a total of 46 points.
Runner up playing off 7 was local stalwart Harry Sheehan who, standing on the Par 3 17th tee at a magnificent 4 under par, looked a sure bet to claim the top spot but an unfortunate slip up at the penultimate hole meant he had to settle for second place.
