Man fined for failing to secure shotgun
Alan William Foster, 42, from Netherlands Park in Dunmurry, appeared at Lisburn Magistrates Court this week charged with failing to comply with a condition of his firearms certificate.
The court heard that police were called to Netherlands Park in Dunmurry. During the call out, the police discovered a shotgun and 200 shotgun cartridges in the boot of the defendant’s car.

Hide AdDefence said: “It was his practice to take it from a safe in his home to the boot of the car on a Saturday night as he is the secretary of a shotgun club, which he attends on a Sunday morning.”
Imposing a fine of £200, District Judge Rosie Watters told the defendant: “The car could easily have been stolen and it was not safe there.”
