The court heard that police received a report of an assault at a fast food restaurant in William Street.

There had been a verbal altercation and the manager told Soares he was terminating his employment.

The defendant began shouting and swearing and then punched him. Soares left the premises, went to the car park and kicked the manager’s car causing damage amounting to £885.55.

The case had been adjourned from a previous court so that a pre-sentence report could be obtained.
