Obituary: Ellen Carson
She was born in Larne in December 27, 1913 and went on to marry Arthur Carson, also of Larne, in 1942 before living at Ferris Bay, Islandmagee.
Ellen worked as a teacher in Northern Ireland before and during the war years and Arthur was a lieutenant commander in the Royal Navy.

Hide AdShe and Arthur went to Mexico, where he assisted in the design of boilers for power stations and sugar plantations. Ellen and Arthur had four children, two of whom were born in Mexico City.
They all returned in 1955 and lived in the north of England in Manchester and then York.
Ellen and Arthur kept their house in Ferris Bay and a property in Drains Bay until the late 1960s.
They both enjoyed sailing and moved to Lymington in Hampshire, where they had a small yacht.

Hide AdArthur died in 2000 and Ellen managed to get to her 99th year – living a very strong and independent life. Both Ellen and Arthur loved their homeland and visited their relatives frequently.
They leave behind three of their children, all of whom became head teachers in the UK, Abu Dhabi and Australia.
