Sarah's winning African adventure
Sarah, an AS level pupil at Dromore High School, was over the moon when she won the competition and her blog, which describes the time she spent on a school mission trip to Nakuru, Kenya, now features on the African Adventures website and will also appear in some of the company’s publications.
“When I returned from the trip I composed a blog post all about my time in Kenya and what it meant to me,” explained Sarah. “African Adventures happened to be running a competition at the same time with entries open to anyone in the UK and Ireland or further afield so I decided to submit my blog post.

Sarah documented her mission trip in the hope that it might inspire others.
“I think mission trips and such opportunities are a massive part of growth within youths in this day and age,” explained Sarah.
“They give young people the opportunity to explore what the world has to offer, what they can offer the world and I think voluntary work abroad is a massively character building experience and helps students discover their identity.

As well as having her work published, this budding journalist also won some cash which Sarah will use to fund her next adventure.
“As well as having my blog published, I won a cash prize that will go towards funding my next mission to Romania this summer with Exodus Lisburn.
“I am so grateful for the opportunity African Adventures provided me and will always be thankful to them. My African adventure may have come to a conclusion, but my new found adventure of life has just begun.”
