Well done to LMAX Exchange who have pipped a valiant Derry-Londonderry-Derry to Stroove finishing line
At 1043 UTC, Skipper Olivier Cardin and his crew crossed the line at the mouth of Lough Foyle, just off Greencastle, County Donegal.
After a tense battle with Derry~Londonderry~Doire, in which the teams had been neck and neck for the last few days, it was rounding Rathlin Island overnight that LMAX Exchange established a two nautical mile lead, which eventually stretched to 5NM on the approach to the finish.

Hide AdIt is expected Derry~Londonderry~Doire will be next across the line followed by ClipperTelemed+. Once assembled the teams will make their way down the River Foyle where they are expected to arrive into Derry-Londonderry at approximately 1700 local time (1600 UTC).
Said Mr Cardin: “Since Rockall we sailed with Derry~Londonderry~Doire and ClipperTelemed+ downwind, first in a squally weather, then in lighter winds, and we were helped by the current to sail to the next mark, Rathlin Island. When the stream of tide changed, we had to fight against the current...A tough end of Race 12.”
