Winter Warmer Packs handed out to the elderly
Home Accident Prevention Lisburn (HAPL) has been successful in obtaining funding from the Public Health Agency to purchase and distribute the packs.
Councillor Andrew Ewing, Chairman of the Council’s Environmental Services Committee, speaking about the packs, said: “The safety of older residents within our communities is important and the Council was keen to ensure they received assistance for the winter; and we were happy to work with our partners in HAPL.

“The Council’s Environmental Health Service, South Eastern Trust, Safe and Well, and Lisburn in Focus who are all members of HAPL focused on older people who are socially isolated, those physically unable to transport or carry items, those on low income or who have no immediate help from relatives.
“The Council worked alongside other members of HAPL to identify those older residents who would best benefit from one of these packs. Two hundred vulnerable older people were identified and the packs were delivered to each recipient.”
