Apple is back as a potential competitor to Google Maps after the tech giant rolled out its new map app across the US.
Apple Maps was launched officially in 2012 but was fatally out-performed by Google, despite increasing popularity in the iPhone range, leading CEO Tim Cook to publicly apologise for the original app's failings.
