Academy girls beaten by Sullivan
For the second season in a row, Banbridge Academy girls hockey team fell at the hands of Sullivan in agonising fashion on Wednesday.
The Holywood school netted a second half winner to see off the Academy 2-1 in the semi-final of the Ulster Senior Schoolgirls’ Cup and set up a final showdown with Methody on Wednesday 2nd March at Lisnagarvey’s Comber Road.
Bann’s Sarah Russell had netted an equaliser after Katharine Hill had made it 1-0 to Sullivan at half-time.
Methody, meanwhile, sealed their place in the final with a narrow 1-0 win over Armagh Royal thanks to a goal from Rhiannon Coulter.
