All Saints Boxing Club secures £8,000 funding boost
Delighted secretary of the club, Barry Gordon said: “I am grateful to Colum Best of the Dunclug Partnership for writing the application for the funding.”
The 8,000 has enabled the club to purchase a state of the art commercial treadmill.

Hide AdThe equipment which is already in place at the club is already proving a vital asset to the club and is being used extensively.
It will assist in improving the overall performance of the 70 plus young boxers who compete at different levels.
Stephen Donnelly who is already a senior Ulster champion and who currently is training for the Commonwealth games in India in October 2010 is one of many already benefiting from the treadmill.
All Saints Boxing Club are truly grateful to the Sports Council for Northern Ireland for the funding.

Hide AdColum Best project manager of the Dunclug Partnership who wrote the application for funding said: “It is my pleasure to have helped the club in obtaining the funding. I commend the club for the work and effort they apply in the training of the many youth associated with the club.”
Meanwhile, All Saints boxer Joel Scullion’s recent defeat in the Irish Youth Championship finals shouldn’t be a major obstacle in his continued progress.
That is the view of Scullion’s coach Dermot Hamill, who predicts a bright future for the Ballymena fighter.
“Joel lost 5-2 but if he was to box the same opponent again, I would fancy him to win.

Hide Ad“Joel has a lovely compact style which lends itself to the type of scoring that is in place in amateur boxing now.
“He has come a long way in the last year and there is plenty more to come from him,” added Dermot.
