Davison scoops 11 medals in USA
Gary Davison, a retired fire officer, scooped a remarkable 11 medals at the recent World Police and Fire Games in Fairfax, America.
The Carrick man won age group golds in the 800m (2:25:18), 1,500m (5:11:59), 3,000m steeplechase (12:00:36), 5,000m (18:19) and 10,000m (39:10). He also helped a mixed UK/USA/NI 400m relay team to bronze. He topped the week off with an individual gold in the MV50 half-marathon category and also a half-marathon team silver.
He showed his versatility taking individual and team gold in the biathlon, involving running and shooting.
