Desertmartin 0 (Desertmartin won 4-3 on penalties) DESERTMARTIN made the short journey to their local rivals Magherafelt Sky Blues in search for a victory that would take them through to round two of the Crawford Cup. After a hard fought encounter with little to choose between the two teams, it was the Desert who emerged winners but it took a penalty shoot-out as the scoreline was stalemate after extra time. The game was by no means a classic but derby’s are rarely spectactular events with both team struggling to gain control in the mid-field therefore leaving the game to be dominated by good defending by both teams. However Sky Blues had the best chance of the game in the 2nd half but Davy Nelson made a great save on a on a one to one.
