The win, which was City’s third in eight days, came courtesy of a Michael Rafter double but it was the visitors who went close to opening the scoring.
Bray went close to taking the lead on 20 minutes but Jason Byrne’s dipping shot rattled the crossbar, after the veteran striker showed great skill to get away from City duo Shane McEleney and Ryan McBride.

Derry ended the game as a contest on 55 minutes when Patrick McEleney’s inch perfect cross from the left hand side of the Bray box, found an unmarked Rafter and he gleefully headed home his third goal in two games.
