Fionnuala claims the Lady Captain’s Prize
She topped a field of 67 competitors to claim the big Lady Captain’s Prize with a fantastic score of 41 points, getting her handicap cut down to 10.5 in the process.
Marlene Nelson pushed Fionnuala all the way and managed 39 points to claim the runners-up prize.

Hide AdThe weather had been kind and all went according to plan, first the golf, then the food, then the very important ‘if only’ stories, followed by afternoon tea, the captain’s dinner and the prize presentation. As many as 21 very happy ladies walked the floor to receive their prizes.
The Lady Captain’s guest competition was won by Helen Setterfield. The Juvenile Girls competition was won by Melissa Whan with 37 points.
The best putter on the day over nine holes was past captain Denise McBrien. The longest drive, close to 300 yards was struck by Annmarie Canavan.
Nearest to the pin prize only 120cm from the cup was won by Carole Quinn. The front nine was won by Mary Jo Thompson with 21 points and the back nine by Wendy Todd also with 21 points.

Hide AdThe Pink Ladies prize was won by Pat McCartan. The Past Captains prize was won by Anne Connelly with 36 points. The Committee Prizes were won by Denise McBrien and Joy Gowdy.
Section A runner up with 34 points was Mary Quinn and the winner of Section A was Mildred Hodgett with 35 points. Section B runner up with 37 points was Lorna McKinstry and the winner was Jacinta Rooney with 37 points.
Section C runner up was Denise Nelson with 31 points and the winner was Angela Magee Senior with 32 points.
The Gross prize was won by the long hitting Annmarie Canavan.

Hide AdThe Lady Captain’s week began on Wednesday with the visiting Ladies Captain’s Day. The runner up was Laura McAdam, the Lady Vice Captain from Portadown and the winner was Delores Hamill, Lady Captain of Tandragee.
It was a most enjoyable day for the Lady Captain Lorna Poots, her family and guests and members alike.
