GUINNESS PRO12: Andrew Trimble set to become Ulster’s most capped player
There had been doubt surrounding the international three-quarter’s fitness earlier in the week, but he got the all clear on Thursday to take his place in the history books.
Trimble - who will turn 32 next month - is currently on 189 appearances, the record previously set by centre Paddy Wallace, who retired last year.

Trimble had only just returned to playing at the start of the summer after an injury suffered almost a year ago. He picked up another knock during the warm-up games which effectively ended his World Cup hopes.
Trimble suffered an injury in Ulster’s win over Ospreys in the opening PRO12 game four weeks ago.
This week Ulster head coach Neil Doak said “We’re hoping Andrew comes through. He still has to reach a few markers later in the week though.
“We’ve been working hard to make sure he’s fully fit but we don’t want to bring him in too early.”
“If he comes through those targets, hopefully he’ll be able to take his place.”
