It’s a mint afternoon for Murray as Frank takes top spot
It’s no wonder he was nine points better than his handicap as Frank had nothing worse than a five in his whole round. His 18 holes of almost impeccable golf included a birdie at the eighth and eleven pars.
It took every one of those points to edge out Club Captain John Greeran (14), who finished second on 44 points.

Hide AdA single bogie, a birdie and seven pars in the front nine put him in the lead at the turn and a brilliant birdie on the last increased his chances but even that great round was not enough to take first place in a day of good scoring.
Third place was won by Kirk Thornhill (18) after a count-back when both he and Desmond McKee (14) finished on 43 points. Kirk, who also finished runner-up in the Wednesday Hat, got off to great start with a birdie at the first and then lost the advantage with a double bogie at the second. A triple bogie at the ninth was costly but a fantastic birdie at the stroke index one 15th made amends for that.
Desmond had a great front nine with a birdie and seven pars but his single bogies on the last four holes made the difference to lose on the count-back. Alan Crockard won best Gross.
The Wednesday Hat was won by Stephen Thornhill (11) with a total of 42 points.
