Sky Blues Reserves second best at Tobermore

Magherafelt Sky Blues Reserves made the short trip to Tobermore taking on Tobermore United Reserves in what turned out to be a bad day at the office for the Blues.

The Blues came into the game with back to back league wins but were up against a Tobermore outfit unbeaten and current league leaders! The game started in Tobermore’s favour bossing the early opening stages of play and having a couple of chances at goal.

The Blues were a shadow of the team who beat Ballymoney the week before and were disorganised clumsy and second best to all of the play. It was Tobermore who scored the opening goal with some good forward play leading to their striker to score from close range giving Tobermore a perfect start.

Tobermore continued to create chances and got their second goal when a scramble in the box fell to the Tobermore striker who placed his shot into the net.

Manager Declan was unhappy with the Blues attitude and made two substitutions in the first half bringing Aodhan McGuckin on for Wilkinson and Stephen McGuckin for Shane O’Hagan in an attempt to get the Blues back in the game.
