Ulster star Gilroy saves the day at Ulidia College
The school was set to host a Year 8 Festival of Rugby involving Carrickfergus College and Downshire but heavy rain scuppered their plans.
The Ravenhill star, capped five times by Ireland, was named Ulster Young Player of the Year Award in 2012.

The pupils got Gilroy’s take on what it’s like, and what it takes, to play at the highest level in sport.
He answered questions ranging from his favourite players, to what his academic plans would have been if rugby wasn’t his career.
All pupils and staff were very appreciative of Gilroy coming in during his busy schedule and thanked him for a very enjoyable and informative afternoon.
